Compact design, fast movements and efficient installation were key considerations in the further development of the JVL stepper motors. In a special version, the NEMA34 motor is integrated with a ball screw, which means that the machine builder needs very little space to install the component. It also requires fewer cables to be connected. The resulting linear actuator also offers an integrated controller and extensive options for connection to various bus systems.

JVL’s complete range of linear stepper motors consists of six sizes from 20 to 86 mm square in NEMA08 to NEMA34 versions. These assemblies are available with resolutions ranging from 0.001524 to 0.127 mm/rev and are particularly suitable for achieving fast and accurate linear movements.
NEMA34 with ball screw
New is the version in which the NEMA34 design is linked to a ball screw. The motor and spindle are integrated, which not only results in a compact design, but also significantly reduces the cabling time for the OEM. Furthermore, the use of a ball screw results in minimal friction, which in turn results in minimal heat generation and maximum linear speeds. A unique combination in the world of drive technology!
The linear actuator can be integrated into a drive system as desired, but can also be used as a standalone unit. This is possible thanks to the integrated controller, which allows the actuator to be programmed entirely as desired. The eight available inputs and outputs make it possible to connect the actuator to various other components.
Features
This version of the NEMA34 with ball screw is available in three standard stroke lengths and delivers a torque of up to 11 Nm. It can be combined with various rolled ball screws to achieve an accuracy of approximately 10 µm.
Applications can be found in all sectors and industries where fast and accurate linear movements are required. Examples include the semiconductor industry, food industry, X-Y tables, pick & place applications, positioning tasks, mechanical and acoustic measurements, and machines with multiple axes.
Ready for Industry 4.0
Finally, depending on the model, the linear actuators are available with a variety of interfaces for Ethernet IP, Modbus, Profinet, Sercos III, Powerlink, Profibus, CANopen, and more. This ensures that the components are fully prepared for integration into Industry 4.0.
