At WoTS, we presented this valuable addition to our extensive product range: lifting columns from Swedish company X2 technology. These are high-quality, electrically powered lifting columns for use in the medical sector and industry, among others. They have a modular design consisting of aluminium elements and can be fitted with an encoder and control system as required.

The Swedish company X2 technology was founded 20 years ago and manufactures both lifting columns and linear guides. These products are characterised by their high quality, which is reflected in their robust construction, tight tolerances and, as a result, high precision and low-noise operation.
This is achieved, among other things, by using 0.5 mm thick sliding plates that eliminate play in the lifting columns and minimise friction. This feature is supported by the use of rigid anodised aluminium profiles with a surface treatment designed to minimise friction. The various measures ultimately result in products with a service life of up to 500,000 strokes.
Drive
The electric drive consists of a motor for 12, 24, 36 VDC or 3×230 / 50 Hz VAC, a ball screw or ACME screw and a planetary or worm gearbox. By working with dual screws and a single motor, the lifting columns are compact and capable of accurately delivering a wide range of forces and strokes.
Because the lifting columns are also modular in design, they are available in 2- to 6-stage versions and can be combined with various options. For example, proximity switches, encoders (for parallel operation of more than one lifting column) and lock nuts.
Performances
The clearly structured range includes square, rectangular and oval variants that differ in terms of their maximum load, stroke and speed, among other things. In addition, there is one telescopic variant available and a version that not only operates on 24 VDC but can also be connected to 3×230 VAC. The protection class for all variants is IP30.
In addition to the standard programme, X2 technology is optimally equipped for the production of specials. This gives customers the opportunity to tailor the lifting columns to their specific application. No request is too crazy in this regard, which is one of the reasons why the company is such a good fit for Rotero.
Applications
The lifting columns are used in the medical sector, among other places. For example, for adjusting patient tables or heavy equipment. The components comply with EN 60601 and UL 2601 standards, specifically for this sector. They can also be used in the luxury furniture segment for ergonomic purposes and in a wide range of industrial applications.
