At the end of the last century, two young men from Slovakia developed a high-precision reducer for use in robots, among other things. Almost 25 years later, Spinea has grown into a company with various production locations that has further developed the special reducer and applied it in a range of actuators and rotating modules, among other things.

The actuators in Spinea’s range comprise four versions (standard, hollow shaft, modular and flat) that make up the DriveSpin series. The components consist of an optimised servo motor combined with a TwinSpin gearbox. The result is ideally suited to highly dynamic applications that have limited installation space and require relatively high torque. To meet these requirements, the transmission and servo motors are backlash-free and equipped with an additional integrated bearing.
New: the flat version
Spinea developed the DSF variant especially for applications with even less installation space available. This DriveSpin Flat version has an extremely short installation length, achieved by integrating the gearbox and positioning the electrical connections upright. In this compact, lightweight version, the servo actuator delivers a high torque density of 12 to 85 Nm.
Other characteristic features include high torsional rigidity, high accuracy and repeatability, and high load capacity thanks to the integrated bearings. Finally, the DriveSpin Flat can be combined with various feedback systems to meet every customer requirement.
Thanks to its various properties, the DSF is suitable for use in robots (6-axis robots, gantry robots and manipulators), machines (CNC, lathes, grinding machines), special machines (such as bending benches) and medical equipment. They can also be used in aerospace applications, flight simulators, the defence industry, the semiconductor industry and in radar and monitoring systems. A particular advantage for general mechanical engineering is that the DriveSpin can also serve as a pivot point thanks to the additional built-in bearing. This saves on components and therefore costs.
