Unimotion’s product development department is always busy! Recently, the new LMCA series was released, further expanding Rotero’s range of linear motors. The new motors are available from stock and are characterised by their high power density, extremely compact design and the use of a Hall sensor developed specifically for these motors.

The most recent addition to the Unimotion range is the LMCA series of linear motors. In 2021, the company developed a completely new generation with a number of distinctive advantages. This makes them suitable for a wide range of applications, including actuators, robots, XYZ tables, positioning, assembly and much more.
One of the main advantages of these linear motors is their power density, which is 30–50% higher than that of other linear motors. In addition, cogging is very low. The motors are available in various sizes (30, 60 and 90) and variants (S, M, L and XL); only the LMCA 30 is not available in the XL version. High-speed and low-speed versions have also been developed.
The LMCA 30 is the most compact version and is therefore suitable for lightly loaded applications where high speeds and accelerations play a role. The middle section – represented by the LMCA 60 – offers high dynamics and an excellent speed/force ratio. The strongest variant, the LMCA 90, is particularly suitable for applications with high axial loads.
All variants are equipped with air cooling and a Hall sensor. This sensor has been specifically developed for these LMCA linear motors and combines analogue and digital sensors in a single housing. In addition, Hall sensors contribute to accurate mounting, enabling proper alignment of the sensors and motor windings.
Unimotion has paid special attention to the magnetic plates. A standard version is available, as well as a high-performance version. Both are available in three lengths corresponding to the various sizes. The high-performance version is distinguished by an even higher power density. In addition, the forces and peak forces can be up to 11% higher than with the classic magnetic plates.
