Oriental Motor presented a driver at the Hannover Messe that is specifically suitable for two-axis systems. The most significant improvement over the previous model is its more compact dimensions. By reducing the size to 7 centimetres, it offers significant size advantages over two drivers for a single-axis system.

The new driver has been specifically developed to control AZ series motors. These are efficient closed-loop stepper motors equipped with a mechanical absolute encoder. The various models are suitable for driving actuators such as linear guides, cylinders, turntables or rack and pinion systems. This makes the driver widely applicable within a range of applications. It is also a product that typically simplifies component management when different drives are combined.
In addition to their compact dimensions and wide range of applications, the drivers offer another important advantage: because they are directly suitable for two-axis systems, less cabling is required.
Furthermore, the driver is compatible with EtherCAT, making it easy to connect to a fieldbus network via an Ethernet cable. All operational data can then be easily configured and executed via this network. The same applies to setting specific parameters, receiving alarm information and monitoring the system. Commands and status messages are sent in real time, ensuring that the movements of various synchronous stepper motors are executed reliably and accurately.
In addition to the version for controlling two-axis systems, Oriental Motor also offers variants for three- or four-axis systems. All models operate at a voltage of 24/48 VDC.

Oriental Motor (Europe) GmbH was founded in Düsseldorf in 1982 as a subsidiary of the Japanese company Oriental Motor Co., which was established in 1950. The European branch currently has 70 employees who serve the European market with small electric motors and drive systems. Oriental Motor develops, manufactures and sells AC motors, brushless DC motors, stepper and servo motors and the associated speed controllers, regulators, gearboxes and drivers. The range also includes electric linear guides, actuators, turntables and fans.
