Driver for SN4D stepper motors

The programme offered by the Italian company Ever Elettronica — represented by Rotero — has been supplemented with a new driver for the SN4D stepper motors. This driver has an EtherCAT interface which gives the user the benefits of the CoE DS402 protocol, among others. For example, the fact that all functions of the Power Motion module are integrated, including CSP, CSV and torque modes.

The driver — with IP65 protection and standard industrial (M12) connectors — provides an optimal solution for all machinery where it would be advantageous to install the driver outside of the machine. Among other challenges, this solution simplifies the machine wiring as well as the control panel.

The CoE DS402 protocol is implemented through the EtherCAT interface. This means that all Power Motion module functions, including CSP, CSV and torque modes, are integrated. The vector driver offers fast inputs and outputs for starting and stopping the motors as well as synchronisation abilities for applications which require a quick response.

A serial service interface enables connection with Ever Studio software. Via this software, the drivers can be configured and all drive functions can be debugged in real time. The drive also has two inputs and two outputs and can be read remotely in real time.

The decentralised field stepper motors are available in both open-loop and closed-loop versions. In the latest version, the drivers have an encoder input which also makes them suitable for reliable positioning without making any concessions to synchronisation power. This means, above all, that the original position is automatically restored in the event of positioning errors caused by external factors, such as mechanical vibrations.
