Identify the problem: Rotero offers the solution

Both designers and installers know that the climatic conditions in control panels and control cabinets are decisive for the proper functioning of the various components contained therein. Rotero is very aware of this and has therefore listed the most important Fandis products that can solve the associated problems; or better still: prevent them.

Temperature

One of the most important factors that must be kept under complete control in control cabinets is the temperature. This factor is determined by the heat produced by the components inside the cabinet and the outside temperature. If the combined value becomes too high, this has far-reaching consequences for the operation of the various components.

In short: we need to maintain the temperature here at a suitable level. Through ventilation. It does not matter whether this is natural ventilation, whereby cool air from outside flows in through two or more grilles and leaves the cabinet again, or forced cooling. In the latter case, a fan is used to draw in the air and allow it to flow out again. The use of air conditioners is also an option.

Our solution

virdis: Roof fans, filters and filter groups

A complete series of roof fans extracts warm air from the cabinet and from filters or filter groups for optimal ventilation of the electrical panel or control cabinet.

bordos: Thermoelectric unit

Both standard and customer-specific thermoelectric units are available for smaller control cabinets or electronic equipment for telecommunications and industrial automation. These units operate according to the principles of semiconductor technology (Peltier effect).

Condensation

Is air conditioning in a panel combined with good ventilation sufficient to “protect” components and instrumentation? Unfortunately, it is not that simple. By controlling only the temperature, we give moisture – for example, from condensation – free rein to initiate corrosive and oxidising processes. To solve this problem, it is wise to use both a thermostat and a hygrostat. This increases corrosion resistance by heating the inside of the cabinet, which removes moisture and protects the components from damage.

For an optimal approach, it is important to also assess the climatic conditions of the environment in which the cabinet is located. In countries around the equator, condensation problems will be considerably greater than in drier environments where the difference in temperature between day and night does not lead to the famous dew point being reached, at which water forms due to condensation.

Our solution

orangis: Thermostats and hygrostats

The mechanical thermostats and hygrostats help regulate temperature and humidity in control cabinets. Suitable for DIN rail mounting.

fucsis: anti-condensation heating

A wide range of different types of heating solutions for regulating the temperature in control cabinets. Can be connected via cable or a terminal block and is suitable for DIN rail mounting. The ventilated version increases the heating power to a thermal capacity of 400 W.

Fabric

We have now solved the problems associated with temperature and condensation. But what about dust? Of course, you cannot store fabrics in an electrical panel like this, as is possible in other areas of the company, but we do need to take it into account. Especially when a fan is used that sucks in dust and dirt particles from outside and brings them into contact with the components in the cabinet.

Our solution

virdis: Filters and filter groups

A complete series of filters and filter groups is available for capturing dust particles. These filters can be easily combined with the required ventilation solution. They are available with an IP55 protection class or equipped with an EMC screen, as required.
