Strip heating elements

Tempco’s industrial strip heating elements are versatile and durable solutions for heating surfaces, air and liquids in industrial applications. They are used to heat tanks, ovens and pipes, and are ideal for both direct contact and convection heating.

Tempco offers two main types of strip heating element: mica and ceramic variants. Mica heating elements are suitable for applications up to 482°C and are built with a low profile, making them flexible for compact installations. Ceramic strip heating elements are designed for higher temperatures up to 650°C and are particularly resistant to mechanical and thermal stress, making them ideal for applications in rugged industrial environments.

These heating elements are further available in different styles and mounting configurations, such as screw-down and portable models. They can be used in clean environments or in environments with high concentrations of pollutants, broadening their applicability to include sectors such as the plastics and textile industries. Many heating elements can be customised with additional accessories, such as built-in thermocouples and various mounting clamps, to optimally meet specific heating needs.

The choice of strip heating element type is often determined by factors such as the desired temperature range, the application environment and the required heat distribution.
