Purge/drain valve type G PC S 028 K69 V
In the fuel cell, water is released through a hydrogen/oxygen reaction. This water is discharged via a drain valve.
The oxygen required for the electrochemical reaction is supplied by drawing in air. This means that nitrogen builds up in the fuel cell.
Another application of the valve is to regulate the coolant cycle.
Media isolation valves are used to avoid corrosion caused by aggressive media, such as demineralised water.
