Electronic Relay

The Kissling Series 31 bi-stable power relay with internal control electronics is based on the Series 30 industrial relay and shares the same high-quality mechanical and electrical switching characteristics, but also offers additional electronic functions.

This relay is particularly suitable for battery management and power distribution applications in commercial vehicles, buses, construction and agricultural vehicles, aircraft, earth-moving equipment and lifting and hoisting equipment.

The robust design of our bi-stable relay offers sealing to protection class IP67 and IP6K9K (steam pressure cleaning) in accordance with IEC 60529 and DIN 40050-9.

The Series 31 includes power relays with nominal voltages of 12 and 24 V and nominal continuous current ratings of 300 amperes.

Contact voltages up to 250 VDC with magnetic arc quenching (>40 VDC). Electronic energy storage control.

The relay has only two control connections, allowing a standard monostable relay to be replaced by a bi-stable relay with the advantage of an energy-free holding function.

The internal capacitor is charged when the relay is switched on. When the supply voltage is removed, the capacitor discharges the stored energy into the deactivation coil, causing the relay to switch off. The characteristics of a standard bi-stable relay require a renewed supply of energy to deactivate the coil.

The electronics are short-circuit resistant and feature safety selection of the coil, reverse polarity protection and coil cancellation.
