What is NEMA 3R?
The NEMA (National Electrical Manufacturers Association) classifications indicate the extent to which an enclosure is resistant to external influences. Type 3R means that the enclosure:
- protects against rain, snow and hail,
- continues to function safely when ice forms on the outside,
- and is resistant to the ingress of dirt particles.
This makes NEMA 3R particularly suitable for applications in industrial outdoor environments or damp production halls.
