With the BLE2 series, Oriental Motor once again offers a motor with substance. By re-engineering the motor, driver and cable, this extremely compact brushless DC motor offers an IP66 protection rating. This feature, combined with a stainless steel round shaft, makes it suitable for applications such as transporting liquid substances.
A good basic design can be further improved over time by applying new advanced design software and using state-of-the-art technology. At Oriental Motor, this resulted in a new series of BLE2 brushless DC motors with a number of distinctive and unique features.
The most distinctive feature is that the motor and connector comply with protection class IP66. This means that they are water- and dust-proof and therefore suitable for transporting liquid substances or other environments where powerful water jets are used.
This feature has been achieved by using a newly developed connector with integrated seal and O-ring. After inserting the plug and flipping the locking lever, the desired IP66 connection is achieved.
Furthermore, the driver of the compact motor at the front is equipped with a control panel with a digital display where operating parameters and data can be easily set and changed. For example, the speed can be set here, which can vary widely with a brushless motor and can range from 80 to 4,000 rpm with the BL2 series. The accuracy is ± 0.2% and the speed ratio is 1:50. Settings can be adjusted both locally and remotely. If desired, the MEXE02 adjustment software can be used via USB to set an even greater number of motor parameters.
Finally, the new BLE2 drivers are narrower than the previous BLE generation (45 mm compared to 40 mm) and can be mounted directly against each other; the latter is permitted when the drivers are in contact with a heat-conducting material such as a 2 mm thick aluminium plate and the ambient temperature does not exceed 40 °C.
The installation and removal of the cabling is very simple thanks to the use of spring clamps, which are available in two versions and determine the direction of the cable (away from the shaft or towards the shaft). The cable itself – standard length up to 20 metres – is also suitable for both powering the motor and transmitting the necessary signals.
The BLE2 motors – with round shaft or in combination with a gearbox – are available with a power output of 30, 60, 120 and 200 W and a transmission ratio of 5 – 200. Depending on the type, the diameter of the shaft is 60, 80, 90 or 110 mm.
