Actuators made from rust-resistant stainless steel 316 are ideal for yacht building. Rotero recommended Concens’ Con50 series of electric in-line actuators, made from this seawater-proof material, for the luxury kitchens on a superyacht. As a specialist in motion control, Rotero was involved in this custom-built project from the outset, enabling our customer to construct the perfect movable extractor hoods for a high-end vessel.

Star chefs who prepare meals on board for the rich and famous can lower the beautiful mirrored extractor hoods with transparent lower levels from the ceiling when they start cooking. Finished cooking and cleaned the kitchen? Then the Concens powerhouses pull the entire structure back up against the ceilings thanks to the parallel C2-30 controllers with Hall sensors.

The flat design of these seaworthy Concens in-line actuators is very important on board because superyachts have quite a few beams, pipes and wiring running through the ceilings and floors. There is little space and a considerable amount of weight has to be moved. Due to the swell on the water, it is nice to be able to tension each corner of the extractor hoods separately. The engineers of the extractor hoods and Rotero calculated together how the force field would fall exactly in the middle of the actuators. The weight on each cable is exactly the same, and the result is an ultra-luxurious extractor hood that also pays tribute to the absolute top segment in which it is used in terms of technology.
